Hello Members of the New England Region,
It was great to see so many new and familiar faces in October at our New England Region WOCN’s 41st Annual Fall Conference in Nashua, NH! Thank you for making it such a great success this year. We hope to see you all again next year and welcome all newcomers as our membership continues to grow. YOUR experience is what breathes the very life of our organization and allows these conferences to enrich our practice annually.
Our goal on the Communication Committee is to find out how we can best serve YOU! We are reaching out to everyone in the hopes that we can create user-friendly interactive platform in which you can share in your successes and challenges in our WOCN practices. One of the best ways to learn in our practice is sharing these experiences with one another. That means we are interested in hearing from YOU!
We have several platforms for our members to access and contribute information. Stay connected within our region through our Website newenglandwocn.org, The Blog, and our official “New England Region of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence, Nurses Society” Facebook page. Our Website is “The Hub” of most of the information you’ll need from accessing clinical resources, the WOCN Member Center, meeting our Board Members, Policies and Procedures, Scholarship information, Conference information; the list goes on. The best way to find out more is to check it out!
The Blog (formerly “The Newsletter”) can be found on our Website under the “Blog” tab of our newly designed Website. The Blog is a great platform to share your successes, challenges and “Ah-ha!” moments. This is where YOU get to show our region what you’ve discovered in your practice; the good, the bad and the ugly. We’ve recently added a “Comments” section within the Blogs so that you can applaud a Blog entry or comment any thoughts you care to share.
For those of us that are Facebook users, we have a page for YOU! Between the three platforms you should be able to get the information you need to feel connected and informed. If there’s something you would like to see within these platforms that you have not seen yet, please share your thoughts with us at newenglandwocn@gmail.com.
Did you know that we offer a chance for a FREE New England Region Annual Fall Conference registration to members who submit entries for the Blog?? This is an informal platform where YOU get to share your strengths and challenges. Sharing your experience in home care, acute care, or wound centers is a great way to start the Blog rolling! Share useful journal articles that impact your practice, review articles or discuss new products; the sky is the limit. Plus, who wouldn’t want FREE conference registration??
Let us see what you’re made of New England Region!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Darlene Saucier and Brianne Velazquez
