In Loving Memory of Eileen McCann

It is with a heavy heart that we communicate the passing of our dear friend and colleague Eileen McCann. Eileen fought the “cancer battle” strong and with such grace and dignity and is with such sadness that we offer her family and friends are thoughts and prayers.

Eileen was a longstanding member of our the NERWOCN. She was employed with Convatec for 9 years as Clinical Resource Specialist. Prior to this she was and acute care CWOCN at Stamford Hospital in CT. She has many accomplishments in her role as WOCN including publications, development of educational programs, engaging speaker both regionally and nationally and held numerous awards for outstanding work with a variety of local and national organizations.

Eileen was an amazing person who persevered through some challenging times with her health. She was admired and awed in what she could accomplish during her illness. You would never know she was struggling as she always has such an optimistic attitude and positive outlook. She leaves behind her wonderful family of 3 children, grandchildren and her husband Peter. Though words cannot express the sadness we are feeling, our memories of Eileen and all that she did to touch our lives will forever be remembered.

Eileen’s family is planning to remember Eileen later this week as follows: Visitation – Wednesday, November 29th from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Abriola Funeral Home 419 White Plains Road Trumbull, CT 06611

Funeral Mass – Thursday, November 30th 11:00 A.M. St. Theresa Church 5301 Main Street Trumbull, CT 06611

We do not yet know where the family would like people to send donations or remembrances. If you are inspired to send a note about Eileen to her family, the address is: Peter McCann / McCann Family 75 Johnson Street Trumbull, CT 06611

Sinderely, The New England Region of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Society

Please feel free to add a memory of Eileen to share with us.
